Consider These 3 Cool Countries to Beat the Summer Heat

| 28 Jun 2019

Let’s escape the heat, shall we?

Currently sweating from the indescribable Singapore heat? Sweat no more! Every now and then, we just love to escape to a cold country. Who doesn’t enjoy the cool air brushing through their skin? Here are 3 cool countries to consider!

Iceland is one of those places where every single day feels colder than the last. Known as The Land of Fire And Ice, its temperature averages from 7 to 12 degrees. This results in the weather to be more icy than fiery! In July, you’ll feel like you’re spending the longest time each day. This is due to the Midnight Sun coming around, and it never seems to set! Feel free to check out the beautiful landscape as you hike through the trails or even from the back of an Icelandic horse too. If you’re more adventurous, you may visit Silfra in Thingvellir National Park. This is a place where you can dive or snorkel directly in a crack between two tectonic plates!

New Zealand

You may be more familiar with somewhere closer to home, New Zealand. It is a destination where you can enjoy cool air at an affordable price. From June to August, its temperature averages from 12 to 16 degrees. Famous for its adrenaline-pumping activities, such as the Nevis Bungy and Jet Boating, it pushes you out of your comfort zone as you brave through a 300-metre swing through narrow rocky gorges! If you’re one of the faint-hearted, go on the Skyline Gondola. Over there, you’ll get a first class view of the stunning scenery of Queenstown. If the scenery doesn’t amaze you enough, take a scenic flight out to The Remarkables as you land on the glacier for a holiday not to forget!

Ever felt like living in a fairytale where everything around you seems so unreal? Now, you can live that dream! With temperatures averaging from 14 – 21 degrees, it is a great time to be a part-time model and not break a sweat. Biei and Furano are famous for its vibrant flower fields, which doesn’t seem to have an end to its hills. If that isn’t mesmerising enough, head down to the Blue Pond, where you will feel like you have just been teleported into one of your laptop wallpapers! Legendary for its natural hot springs, be sure to take a nice hot bath at Noboribetsu. While you’re there, it is recommended that you visit the famous Jigokudani, or “Hell Valley” too! Last but not least, the Ginga-no-taki waterfall (Milky Way waterfall) and the Ryusei-no-taki waterfall (Shooting Star waterfall) is a breathtaking sight not to be missed.
