Why does FWD Maid Insurance work for you?

Overall, FWD’s maid insurance plans provide great value for your money. Its Essential plan matches best to first-time maid employers or those on a tighter budget, while the Exclusive plan is perfect for employers looking for more coverage.

If you’re looking for a high-value plan that covers almost every emergency at a competitive rate, FWD maid insurance is a very viable option.

Eligibility

You can purchase FWD maid insurance if you:

  • Are a Singapore resident with a valid NRIC or FIN
  • Are the helper’s employer
  • Are not an undischarged bankrupt
  • Never had to forfeit your security bond to MOM or performance bond to the Philippine embassy related to any past helper, whether covered or not by any maid insurance
  • Have never been refused when buying or renewing any maid insurance nor has your maid insurance ever been cancelled or voided by your insurer

Exclusions

FWD’s exclusions are standard compared to other maid insurance policies on the market. For instance, it excludes claims that arise from anything the Ministry of Manpower doesn’t allow, like pregnancy, illegal activities and other breaches of your helper’s work permit conditions.

Additionally, each benefit comes with its own set of exclusions. For instance, you won’t be able to file a claim under the hospitalisation benefit if your worker is getting treated at a private hospital.

However, FWD does stand out in one way compared to other insurers for exclusions: it is the only insurer to cover your new helper’s pre-existing medical conditions.

How do I make a FWD Maid Insurance claim?
